A specialist school, located in Swindon, are looking for a passionate graduate to join their growing team as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA). You will play a pivotal role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping to create an inclusive environment where every student can thrive. This is a fantastic platform if you are looking to build a career in psychology, neurodiversity and mental health.
The pupils at this school range from 3 to 16 years and have learning difficulties, communication challenges and mental health needs. As an LSA, you will provided support both in and outside the classroom, helping each pupil to progress emotionally, socially and academically. You will also help deliver interventions focused around emotional regulation and promoting self-expression.
The school uses creative methods to engage the students so expect lessons in music, cooking, drama, dance and art! Sensory learning and restorative practices are also key parts of the curriculum – as an LSA, you will help support with this, as well as rolling out other therapeutic techniques, often used in child psychology.
If you are a recent graduate and you are considering a career in Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Speech and Language Therapy, then this is a great place to start!
