Location: South Bristol

Salary: £90-£110 per day

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm

Start Date: Immediate / Flexible Start

Monarch Education is recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded school in South Bristol for a Teaching Assistant specialising in Behaviour Support. This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, and who can make a lasting impact on pupils' engagement and progress.

Role Overview

As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with individual pupils and small groups to support positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement with learning. This role involves both classroom-based support and pastoral work outside of lessons, working alongside class teachers, SENCOs, and inclusion teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils who may present challenging behaviour or have SEMH needs.
• Build strong, trusting relationships to help pupils manage their emotions and behaviour.
• Assist with the implementation of behaviour management strategies and support plans.
• Provide 1:1 mentoring and small group interventions focused on emotional well-being.
• Maintain a consistent, calm approach to help de-escalate situations.
• Encourage positive behaviour, resilience, and self-confidence among pupils.
• Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to monitor and report progress.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has relevant experience working with children or young people, particularly in behaviour or SEMH settings. This could include roles in youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, or care.
• Demonstrates a calm, confident, and resilient manner.
• Is passionate about supporting pupil well-being and promoting inclusion.
• Can effectively manage behaviour and respond to individual needs with empathy.
• Is a team player with excellent communication skills.
