GSL Education are inviting applications for a Behaviour Support Assistant to join a supportive SEND provision in Weymouth. This full-time, permanent role is available for an immediate start, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in students' lives.

About the School

Spread across two dedicated sites, this alternative provision offers a supportive and inclusive setting for young people who have stepped away from mainstream education. Through a blend of vocational training, functional learning, and life skills development, pupils of all ages are guided towards positive outcomes and a more confident future.

Your Responsibilities will be to:

• Provide 1:1 and group support to pupils presenting with behavioural and emotional needs.
• Implement behaviour intervention strategies under the guidance of the SENCO or behaviour lead.
• Help manage classroom dynamics, de-escalate incidents, and promote a positive learning environment.
• Record behaviour incidents and monitor progress towards behavioural targets.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to meet pupil needs.
• Build trusting relationships to promote student self-esteem, independence, and success.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with behavioural challenges is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional resilience.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage difficult situations effectively.
• A trauma-informed and child-centred approach to support.
• Flexibility, patience, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
