Job summary

Envision Education is seeking a dedicated SEND Learning Assistant to join a welcoming school in Watford this September. You will support pupils with their learning, assist in therapy sessions where needed, and help create a safe, inclusive classroom environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork with teachers, safeguarding, and promoting pupils' social, emotional, and academic development in a busy mainstream setting. UK DBS or willingness to apply is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a UK educational setting.
• Positive attitude in a busy, rewarding environment.
• Ability to work as part of a team and support colleagues.
• Confident and professional communication with staff, pupils and parents.
• Passionate about supporting children with SEND.
• Patient, kind and caring, placing children at the centre of everything they do.
• Holds a Child Only DBS registered on the Update Service or is willing to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with learning, lunchtimes and playtimes.
• Work with the class teacher to prepare engaging, safe, and inclusive learning activities.
• Help create a positive, nurturing environment where pupils can develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
• Accompany pupils during therapy sessions and enable them to participate in lessons within mainstream classrooms.
• Encourage pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
• Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times to help ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child.
