Job summary

Envision Education is seeking a SEND Learning Assistant to join a welcoming school from September. The role is Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm, supporting pupils with SEND in mainstream classes and therapy sessions.

You will work with the class teacher to plan engaging activities, foster a positive, inclusive environment, and help pupils develop confidence and life skills. A Child Only DBS on Update Service, or willingness to apply, is required.

Qualifications

• Experience working within a UK educational setting.
• Positive attitude and enjoyment of a busy, rewarding environment.
• Works well as part of a team and supports colleagues.
• Confident and professional communication with staff, pupils and parents.
• Passionate about supporting children with SEND.
• Patient, kind, and puts children first.
• Holds a Child Only DBS registered on the Update Service, or willing to apply.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with their learning, lunchtime routines, and playtimes.
• Work with the class teacher to prepare engaging, safe, and inclusive activities.
• Create a positive, nurturing environment where pupils can develop confidence, independence and life skills.
• Accompany pupils during therapy sessions and enable participation in lessons.
• Encourage pupils' social, emotional and academic development.
• Follow safeguarding and school policies to ensure safety and wellbeing.
