Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Family Support Worker in Handsworth, Birmingham, offering a part-time 22.5 hours per week role through TeacherActive with ASAP start. The position focuses on supporting families of children with SEND and involves casework, reporting and recording to meet agreed outcomes.

The ideal candidate will hold a Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification, have experience in related settings, and be organised with strong communication skills to maintain records and

Qualifications

• Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification or above.
• Experience in Early Years, Childcare, Family Support or related setting.
• Experience supporting parents/carers and families of children with SEND.
• Understanding of Education, Health and Care support available to families.
• Experience managing an individual caseload.
• Experience delivering or supporting parenting programmes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of parents, carers and families.
• Provide practical and emotional support to families of children with SEND.
• Help families access Education, Health and Care services.
• Provide guidance around benefits and support.
• Deliver parenting programmes and positive behaviour strategies.
• Produce reports and maintain accurate case notes and records.
• Ensure reporting systems are updated and progress is tracked.
• Make referrals when additional support is required.
• Liaise with education, Early Years, SEND, health and other professionals.
