Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a SEN English Teacher to join an SEN school in Epping. The role supports learners aged 11–18 with additional and complex needs, providing engaging, accessible lessons and building confidence daily.

Applicants should hold QTS with PGCE or equivalent and have current SEN experience. The post offers ongoing professional development with potential for permanence and immediate interviews.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience in SEN education, preferably at secondary level.
• Strong classroom management and ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to diverse learning needs.
• Teach pupils aged 11–18 with SEN, SEMH and related needs.
• Adapt curriculum content to suit individual abilities and progressions.
• Create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment.
• Build positive relationships to support pupil engagement and progress.
• Collaborate with SEN staff, therapists and school teams.
• Monitor, assess and report pupil progress in line with school expectations.
• Support positive behaviour management within the classroom.

Role Overview

I am looking for an experienced English Teacher who has extensive SEN and SEMH experience to join an intimate team of teachers within an SEN school in Epping. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with additional and complex needs. You will help them learn, build confidence and achieve their fullest potential. This is a rewarding role in which you will gain a lot of hands on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Teach pupils between the ages of 11-18.
• Adapt curriculum content to meet a wide range of additional needs and abilities.
• Create a safe, structured, comfortable and supportive learning environment.
• Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
• Work closely with SEN support staff, therapists and wider school teams.
• Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress in line with school expectations.
• Support positive behavior management across the classroom.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• PGCE or Equivalent training
• Experience in SEN education (Secondary preferred)
• Strong classroom management
• Patient, resilient, adaptable approach
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
