Responsibilities

  • Teaching a small class of pupils with special educational needs

  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants and specialist professionals

SEND Class Teacher – Special School

Are you a passionate SEND Teacher looking to make a genuine difference every day? This outstanding special school in Atherstone is seeking an enthusiastic QTS SEND Class Teacher to join its team from September. You will teach a small class of pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), communication needs and associated learning needs.

The Role
  • Teaching a small class of pupils with special educational needs
  • Planning and delivering creative, engaging and differentiated lessons
  • Supporting pupils with Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties and communication needs
  • Creating a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment
  • Working closely with experienced Teaching Assistants and specialist professionals
  • Monitoring progress and contributing to EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and positive social development
  • Building strong relationships with families and external agencies
The Successful Candidate Will Have
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching primary or secondary‑aged pupils
  • A passion for inclusive education and supporting children with SEND
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • The ability to differentiate learning to meet a range of needs
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Previous experience within a SEND setting is desirable but not essential
