Job summary

Swindon Borough Council is hiring a SEND Case Officer to support and improve the statutory assessment and plan processes for children with SEND. You will join a collaborative team and work with parents, young people and partner agencies to ensure timely, high-quality decision-making and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• You will have relevant experience in special educational needs from health, care and/or education.
• Qualification in special educational needs will be an advantage.
• You will be able to work with a range of agencies and people with lived SEND experience.
• You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and work well under pressure.
• You will be competent with an electronic case management system and have good computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing the statutory assessment and plan processes for children and young people as part of a team of case officers.
• Working with parents, children, young people, providers and practitioners to ensure an efficient statutory process.
• Promoting strengths-based, person-centred approaches and evidence-based decision making for accountability.
• Championing the potential of all children and young people to succeed.
