Qualifications

• Extensive experience in managing SEND statutory assessment processes and EHCP casework.
• Experience working with children, young people, families, schools, and multi-agency professionals.
• Proficiency in drafting EHCPs, reports, and professional correspondence.
• Ability to manage complex caseloads and meet strict statutory deadlines.
• Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent; a relevant professional qualification in Education, SEND, Social Care, Child Development, or a related field is desirable.
• Strong understanding of SEND legislation, statutory guidance, and EHCP processes.
• Knowledge of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee SEND casework from initial referral through statutory assessment, EHCP issuance, and review stages.
• Coordinate statutory assessments, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and timelines.
• Draft, revise, and finalize high-quality Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Communicate effectively with parents, carers, schools, educational settings, and multi-agency partners.
• Participate in and contribute to annual, interim, and emergency review meetings.
• Offer advice and guidance to schools and educational settings on statutory SEND processes.
• Prepare reports, panel papers, and recommendations regarding provision and placement decisions.
• Monitor educational outcomes and ensure effective use of SEND funding.
