Job summary

Supply Desk Ltd in Basingstoke is seeking caring, patient Care Assistant / SEND Support Assistant (Full Time) to support students aged 11-19 with Autism and ADHD at a Specialist SEND School.

The role offers competitive daily pay (£85-£92), a full-time position within a supportive team, ongoing training, a contributory pension, and potential for permanent employment; safeguarding and DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with young people.
• An understanding of emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies.
• A genuine desire to make a difference to the lives of young people with additional needs.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality practices.
• An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one, with our support).

Responsibilities

• Support students with Autism and ADHD throughout the school day.
• Help students regulate emotions and develop positive coping strategies.
• Build trusting relationships that encourage confidence and engagement in learning.
• Support participation in educational, social, and enrichment activities.
• Provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to meet individual student needs.
• Record and report any concerns in line with safeguarding procedures.
• Promote student independence, wellbeing, and personal development.
