Job summary

Axcis Education is seeking a patient, nurturing Supply Teaching Assistant to support autistic pupils at a Bracknell secondary school. This flexible, as-and-when-needed role is ideal for someone with SEND experience who can help pupils access learning and feel confident in the classroom.

The successful candidate will provide individualised support, adapting to each pupil's needs, and collaborate with teachers to maintain a calm, inclusive environment. DBS and compliance checks will be required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Able to adapt communication to individual needs.
• Committed to creating a calm, inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide supportive and encouraging assistance to autistic pupils.
• Help pupils access and engage with classroom learning.
• Explain tasks and instructions clearly and in a way that suits the individual pupil.
• Provide reassurance and encouragement where needed.
• Adapt your communication and approach to meet individual needs.
• Support pupils to develop confidence and independence.
• Work positively alongside teachers and other support staff.
• Help create a calm, inclusive and positive learning environment.
