Job summary

London Teaching Pool, Ltd is seeking an experienced SENCO for a specialist school in Princes Risborough (HP27), supporting students aged 11–18 with SEMH and other needs. You will lead SEND provision across the school and collaborate with families, staff and external professionals to secure personalised support.

The role requires strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and EHCPs, excellent leadership and safeguarding commitment, and a proactive approach to improving outcomes for SEND students.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience with children/young people with SEND and complex needs.
• Experience in SENCO or SEND leadership/coordination.
• Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes.
• Experience with SEMH and additional needs.
• Organisational, communication and leadership strengths.
• Collaborative approach with families and multidisciplinary professionals.
• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and improved SEND outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the school's SEND provision and inclusion.
• Oversee identification, assessment and ongoing SEND support.
• Manage EHCPs, ensuring outcomes are implemented and reviewed.
• Coordinate annual EHCP reviews and relevant assessments.
• Work with staff to develop effective strategies and interventions.
• Provide guidance and support to staff on SEND provision and needs.
• Monitor progress and wider outcomes for students with SEND.
• Collaborate with parents, carers, social care and external professionals.
• Maintain SEND records and documentation accurately.
• Support development and implementation of individual learning plans.
• Promote positive behaviour, inclusion and emotional wellbeing.
• Stay updated on SEND legislation and best practice.
• Contribute to whole-school development, safeguarding and staff training.
• Advocate for students to keep their needs at the centre of provision.
