Job summary

TLTP Education is seeking an experienced SENCO to lead SEND provision at a specialist school in Princes Risborough (HP27). You will ensure high‑quality, personalised support for students aged 11–18 with SEMH and other needs.

You will collaborate with staff, families and external professionals to coordinate EHCP reviews, develop learning plans, monitor progress and safeguard requirements.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification.
• Experience working with children or young people with SEND and/or complex needs.
• Experience in a SENCO, SEND leadership or significant SEND coordination role.
• Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes.
• Experience working with students with SEMH and additional needs.
• Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
• Collaborative approach to working with families and multidisciplinary professionals.
• A patient, calm, resilient and compassionate approach.
• Commitment to safeguarding and improving outcomes for students with SEND.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the school's SEND provision, ensuring high standards of support and inclusion.
• Oversee the identification, assessment and ongoing support of students with SEND.
• Manage and monitor EHCPs, ensuring outcomes and provision are effectively implemented and reviewed.
• Coordinate annual EHCP reviews and contribute to relevant assessments and documentation.
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to develop effective strategies and interventions for students.
• Provide advice, guidance and support to staff around SEND provision, differentiation and individual student needs.
• Monitor the progress, attainment and wider outcomes of students with SEND.
• Work collaboratively with parents, carers, social care, educational psychologists, therapists and other external professionals.
• Ensure appropriate records and SEND documentation are maintained adequately.
• Support the development and implementation of individual learning plans and targeted interventions.
• Promote positive behaviour, inclusion, independence and emotional wellbeing across the school.
• Keep up to date with relevant SEND legislation, guidance and best practice.
• Contribute to whole‑school development, policies, safeguarding and staff training.
• Advocate for students and ensure their individual needs remain at the centre of provision.
