Job summary

Principal Recruitment in North London is seeking an experienced SENCO to lead and develop the school's SEND provision, ensuring high-quality education for students with needs.

Working with SLT, staff, families and external partners, you will coordinate EHCPs, reviews and ensure robust systems and interventions across the school, driving inclusion and improved outcomes for all students with SEND.

Qualifications

• Experience as a SENCO or in a SEND leadership role within a secondary school.
• Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.
• Willingness to complete the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) where required.
• Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead strategically while focussing on individual student needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the school's SEND provision in line with current legislation and best practice.
• Oversee identification, assessment and monitoring of students with additional needs.
• Collaborate with teachers to ensure differentiation and effective classroom strategies.
• Coordinate EHCP processes, annual reviews and liaison with the Local Authority.
• Manage and support the SEND team and liaise with parents and external agencies.
• Monitor progress, attainment and wellbeing of students with SEND.
• Contribute to whole-school improvement and staff training on SEND.
• Promote an inclusive culture where every student achieves their potential.
