Job summary

Engage Partners Limited is seeking an experienced SENCO to join a specialist school in Wakefield, leading SEND provision and coordinating EHCP processes to secure positive outcomes for students aged 11–19.

You will collaborate with senior leaders, families, and external agencies to ensure appropriate support, drive inclusive practice, and develop staff capability for high-quality SEND provision.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• NPQ for SENCO or NASENCO qualification obtained before September 2024.
• Substantial experience supporting children and young people with SEND, ideally in a specialist setting.
• Thorough knowledge of EHCP processes and statutory guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of SEND provision across the school.
• Oversee the EHCP process, ensuring statutory requirements and deadlines are met.
• Work collaboratively with families, staff, and external professionals to coordinate support.
• Lead staff training and professional development in SEND practices.
• Act as Designated Teacher for Children in Care and attend PEP meetings.
