Job summary

Warwickshire College Group is seeking a SENCO to lead the strategic direction and operational delivery of the Learning Support/SEND department at the new WCG Drive 14-16 Direct Entry School. The post focuses on enabling students with additional needs to access the curriculum and achieve their potential.

Qualifications

• QTLS or PGCE required.
• Degree-level academic qualification.
• GCSE Maths and English at grade A-C.
• NPQ SENCO or NASENCO (or willing to obtain within 3 years).
• Substantial secondary teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic development and delivery of SEND provision.
• Strategic planning, review and improvement of SEND policy.
• Manage Learning Support department budget and resources.
• Line-manage Teaching Assistants and coordinate CPD.
• Coordinate EHCPs, annual reviews and pupil plans.
• Coordinate examinations access arrangements with exams officer.
• Liaise with parents, external agencies and local authority.
• Support smooth transitions from primary feeders to senior school.
