Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is assisting a leading school in Wandsworth, London to appoint an experienced SENCO to lead and develop its SEND provision. The successful candidate will oversee SEND provision across the school, work with staff, families and external agencies, and ensure high-quality support for pupils with additional needs.

The role requires Qualified Teacher Status, prior SENCO or SEND experience, knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, and the ability to deliver training and drive

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
• Experience in SEND provision or SENCO role.
• Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Experience coordinating EHCPs and working with external agencies.
• Commitment to inclusive education and improving outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school.
• Manage the SEND register and maintain accurate records.
• Support teachers with strategies to meet pupils' needs.
• Monitor pupil progress and evaluate interventions.
• Work with parents, carers and external agencies.
• Coordinate EHCP reviews and statutory processes.
• Deliver staff training and promote inclusive teaching practices.
• Contribute to strategic development of SEND provision.
