Job summary

Polaris Education - Lyttelton House School in Andover seeks a SENCO to lead SEN provision, policy and EHCP coordination within a nurturing community. This full-time role reports to the school leadership and supports pupils aged 5-18 with complex needs.

The successful candidate will develop interventions, oversee annual reviews, liaise with parents and external agencies, and promote inclusive learning across the school, while safeguarding and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and SEN qualifications.
• National Award for SEN Co-ordination or willingness to complete NPQ for SENCOs.
• Experience supporting pupils with autism/SEMH and leading INSET training.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic development of SEN policy and provision.
• Design and deliver extra interventions to reduce attainment gaps.
• Assess and monitor progress of pupils in line with EHCPs.
• Hold EHCP annual reviews and act as DDSL.
• Attend multi-agency meetings and lead Early Help initiatives.
• Coordinate provision to support pupils with SEN and maintain records.
• Collaborate with Headteacher, tutors, teachers, and parents on learning plans.
• Ensure smooth transitions and liaison with external agencies.
