Job summary

Polaris Community in Andover, Hampshire, seeks a SENCO to lead SEN policy and provision across the school. The role includes designing interventions, monitoring EHCPs, and coordinating with external agencies to support vulnerable pupils.

We require QTS and SEN-coordination qualifications, with experience in autism/SEMH and a commitment to safeguarding. This is a full-time post within a supportive education community.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
• Experience with pupils with autism and/or SEMH needs.
• Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
• Willingness to complete the NPQ for SENCOs or National Award for SENCOs.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic development of SEN policy and provision in the school.
• Design and deliver interventions to reduce attainment gaps.
• Assess and monitor progress of pupils in line with EHCPs; hold EHCP annual reviews.
• Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL).
• Attend multi-agency meetings and lead on Early Help.
