Job summary

Kennington CE Academy in Ashford is seeking a dedicated SENCO Assistant to work alongside the SENCO, leaders, teachers and families to ensure every pupil receives the support needed to thrive academically and emotionally.

This 32.5-hour per week, term-time role involves coordinating and monitoring SEND provision, maintaining support plans, liaising with external agencies, and contributing to safeguarding and inclusion across the school.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and young people in an educational setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organisational and record-keeping abilities.
• Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate learning interventions.
• Knowledge of SEND Code of Practice is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the SENCO in delivering SEND provision across the school.
• Collaborate with staff, families and external agencies to support pupils with SEND.
• Maintain provision maps, pupil profiles and support plans.
• Assist with assessment and identification of SEND needs.
• Prepare documentation for annual reviews and EHCPs.
• Collate SEND data and monitor pupil progress.
• Support access arrangements and examinations for pupils with SEND.
• Deputise for the SENCO when required and support safeguarding duties.
