Job summary

Marchant Recruitment represents a dedicated school in Maidstone seeking a SENCO Assistant to support the SENCO and pastoral team. You will help pupils with additional learning needs access the curriculum, maintain records and contribute to inclusive practice within a welcoming environment.

The role focuses on coordinating SEND provision, supporting assessments, and working with staff, families and external professionals to ensure appropriate interventions and wellbeing for pupils.

Qualifications

• Experience working within a school or education setting with SEND or additional learning needs.
• Ability to coordinate SEND provision and maintain accurate records.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with families, staff and external professionals.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day coordination of SEND provision.
• Maintain accurate records and help implement individual learning plans.
• Monitor pupil progress and wellbeing of those with additional needs.
• Support assessments, attend meetings and liaise with external agencies.
• Communicate with parents and carers and keep documentation up to date.
