Job summary

GLF Schools is seeking a dedicated SENCO Assistant at Lightwater Village Infant and Junior School to support inclusion and pupil progress under the SENCO. You will assist in developing educational plans and welfare support across the cluster, working with staff to ensure every child is valued and able to thrive.

Join a supportive Trust offering 24 hours per week over 39 weeks, with a January 2027 start and flexible working options.

Qualifications

• Experience working within SEND.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and welfare of children.
• Ability to organise and prioritise workload under pressure.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated.
• Ability to develop positive relationships with young children.
• Understand educational, welfare and social needs of the children.
• Stay calm and objective with challenging behaviour.
• Enthusiastic and committed to teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Support SENCO in promoting inclusive education across the cluster.
• Assist with development and progress of pupils and education plans.
• Collaborate with staff across Lightwater Village Infant and Junior School and clusters.
• Support safeguarding and welfare planning for pupils.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive school environment.
