Are you a passionate and experienced leader with a strong commitment to inclusion and SEND provision? We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring SENCO/Assistant Headteacher (AHT) to join a senior leadership team at a vibrant school.

This is a unique opportunity for a strategic thinker who can lead high-quality provision for pupils with additional needs while contributing to whole-school development as a member of SLT. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a SENCO/AHT:

  • Lead and manage the school’s SEND provision, ensuring high-quality support and outcomes for all pupils with additional needs

  • Oversee and coordinate EHCPs, referrals, reviews, and liaison with external agencies

  • Support staff in delivering inclusive and differentiated teaching

  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of interventions and support strategies

  • Contribute to the wider leadership of the school as an Assistant Headteacher

  • Support staff development and promote an inclusive, aspirational culture across the school

Ideal SENCO/AHT:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to work towards it)

  • Proven experience in a leadership or SEN-focused role

  • Excellent understanding of SEND legislation, the graduated approach and best practice in inclusive education

  • Strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills as a SENCO/AHT

  • A commitment to nurturing every child and supporting staff to do the same
