A welcoming and inclusive early years setting in central London is seeking a qualified and experienced SENCO to join their team from October 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate practitioner to take on a key leadership role within a well-established and supportive early years environment.

The Role

As SENCO, you will play a key leadership role in coordinating SEND provision across the nursery, ensuring early identification, effective intervention, and inclusive practice for all children with additional needs. Your responsibilities will include:
• Leading on EHCP processes and overseeing individual support plans
• Maintaining and updating the SEND register, with accurate records of pupils’ needs and progress
• Liaising with parents, external agencies, and borough support teams to ensure joined-up, high-quality provision
• Organising and delivering staff training to build confidence and consistency in inclusive approaches across the setting

This position is offered on a 4 or 5 day per week basis, depending on the successful candidate’s availability.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• The National SENCO Award (or equivalent recognised qualification)
• Experience working with children with SEND in an Early Years setting
• Strong working knowledge of the EYFS Framework and SEND Code of Practice
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

The Setting

This role is based at a well-established and inclusive early years setting located in Brixton. The nursery school has a strong reputation for nurturing each child’s individual development and is committed to early intervention and inclusive practice. Led by a dedicated leadership team, the nursery offers a welcoming, child-centred environment where staff are encouraged to collaborate and grow professionally.
The setting is easily accessible by public transport and is part of a wider federation of nursery schools in the borough, offering excellent opportunities for shared training and development

If you’re an experienced SENCO ready to make an impact in a high-quality early year setting, we’d love to hear from you.
