  • Location: Underley Garden School, Kirkby Lonsdale, LA6 2DZ
  • Salary: £38,000.00 per annum (not pro rata)
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Contract: Permanent, Term Time only
  • Note: UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship.
About The Role

As a SENCo, you will collaborate with the Headteacher and therapy team to develop the SEND policy. You will provide guidance to colleagues and liaise with staff, parents, and agencies to ensure pupils with SEN receive appropriate support and high-quality teaching. Your responsibilities include advising on graduated approaches, providing SEN support, and supporting pupils with complex needs.

Who We Are Looking For

We seek an outstanding, innovative, and determined SENCo responsible for the strategic leadership of SEN provision. You should have excellent management, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and a commitment to equality and accountability.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure statutory responsibilities regarding students with EHCPs are met.
  • Chair or oversee EHCP review meetings.
  • Fulfill statutory duties per the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Implement and maintain the SEN policy in line with regulations.
  • Support staff in completing PEPs.
  • Coordinate with the Clinical Lead for clinical provisions.
  • Manage EHCP review invitations and paperwork.
  • Monitor progress towards EHCP outcomes.
  • Oversee quality of EHCPs and support plans.
