An ambitious and inclusive primary academy in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a committed and experienced SENCO to join their team from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key leadership role within a supportive school environment that places children's individual needs at the centre of everything it does.
About the Role:As SENCO, you will be responsible for leading and developing the provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities across the school. You will work closely with teaching staff, senior leaders, families and external professionals to ensure that every pupil receives the tailored support they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operation of the SEND policy
Coordinate high-quality provision for pupils with SEND, including those with EHCPs
Support, guide and develop staff in their work with pupils with additional needs
Monitor and track progress to ensure positive outcomes for all SEND pupils
Lead annual reviews and statutory processes, liaising with external agencies as required
Be an active member of the senior leadership team and contribute to wider school development
About You:
Qualified teacher status (QTS)
Completed or working towards the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO)
A strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive teaching strategies
Proven experience supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs, including ASD, SEMH and communication difficulties
Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
A genuine passion for inclusion and improving outcomes for all learners
