Job summary

Hawley Woods School is seeking an experienced SENCO to lead strategic development of SEND policy and provision across the school. The role includes coordinating day-to-day SEND support and ensuring each pupil’s needs are understood and met.

You will work with teaching staff and external agencies to support individual needs, analyse SEND data, and provide clear progress reports. The post emphasises inclusive education across educational, health and social care aspects.

Qualifications

• Significant experience working with children with SEND, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
• Sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and confident application.
• Ability to analyse SEND data and communicate findings to educational and non-educational staff.

• Sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and be confident in its application
• An ability to work with sensitivity and positivity to ensure every pupil can thrive
• Strong skills in school improvement planning, monitoring, and reviewing progress are essential
• The ability to analyse SEND data and communicate your findings to both educational and non-educational staff.

Who are we?

Hawley Woods School provides specialist education for autistic children and those with associated conditions or learning disabilities across Key Stages 2-4 supporting children aged 7-17 (school years 3-11).

We help children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) who may be struggling to keep up with the pace of work, may be losing confidence, or struggling with the overwhelming sensory environment of their mainstream school. We also help children who have been out of education for a period of time, to positively re-engage in an education which takes into account any negative experiences they may have had in schools so far.
