Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Tutor to provide one-on-one or small group support for students with diverse learning needs in Wiltshire. You will tailor educational plans and work closely with teachers, families and support staff to help students reach their potential.

The role emphasizes creating an inclusive, compassionate learning environment, using a range of tools and strategies, and monitoring progress through IEPs and regular feedback to parents.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with students with Special Educational Needs in tutoring or teaching.
• PGCE or QTS is essential.
• Knowledge of SEN conditions and effective teaching strategies.
• Strong communication and collaboration with families and professionals.
• Patience and empathy in supporting students with additional needs.
• Ability to create an inclusive, positive learning environment.
• Flexibility to meet varying student needs.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one or small group SEN sessions.
• Assess learning needs and tailor lesson plans.
• Support with academic subjects and social skills.
• Use visual aids, sensory materials, and tech tools.
• Develop and monitor IEPs and progress.
• Collaborate with teachers, assistants, and parents.
• Provide regular progress feedback to families.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
• Record sessions and maintain documentation.
• Support students during exams and school activities.
