Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Tutor to provide one-on-one or small group support to students with diverse learning needs in Wiltshire. You will tailor educational plans, collaborate with teachers and families, and ensure each student reaches their potential in a supportive environment.

The role requires a PGCE or QTS, experience with SEN, and a compassionate, patient approach. DBS checks are expected, with a commitment to inclusive education and progress tracking.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with students with SEN in tutoring or teaching.
  • Strong communication with students, families and professionals.
  • Patience, empathy and passion for supporting learners with additional needs.
  • Ability to create an inclusive learning environment and adapt to diverse needs.
  • DBS check or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalized learning sessions to students with a range of SEN.
  • Assess individual learning needs and tailor lesson plans accordingly.
  • Provide support across academics, social skills and emotional regulation.
  • Use visual aids, sensory materials, and interactive tech to support learning.
  • Develop and monitor IEPs and track progress against targets.
  • Collaborate with teachers, TAs and parents for holistic support.
  • Provide regular feedback on student progress to guardians.
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Adapt teaching methods to varying SEN needs.
  • Keep accurate records of sessions, plans and progress.
