Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking an SEN Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 tuition for children and young people with SEND. Sessions may take place at homes, schools or community settings, offering flexible hours and locations to fit individual needs.

You will assess needs, plan differentiated lessons and build confidence while reporting progress to parents and schools. Experience with autism, ADHD, dyslexia and SEMH is valued, along with a relevant teaching qualification and an Enhanced DBS or

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND/SEN.
  • Experience delivering 1:1 tuition or personalised support.
  • Strong subject knowledge relevant to tutoring roles.
  • A recognised teaching or tutoring qualification such as QTS, PGCE/PGDE or relevant certification.
  • Good understanding of different SEN needs and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and time-management skills.
  • Patient, empathetic and adaptable approach.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to complete the required process.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, personalised 1:1 tuition based on individual needs.
  • Support pupils with needs including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, SEMH and other learning difficulties.
  • Assess learning needs and establish appropriate objectives.
  • Plan and deliver structured, differentiated lessons.
  • Adapt teaching approaches, resources and strategies to suit each learner.
  • Build positive relationships and develop pupils' confidence, independence and motivation.
  • Monitor and report on progress and outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, schools and other professionals.
  • Create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Follow appropriate safeguarding and SEND procedures.
