Job summary

Remedy Tutors is seeking experienced, qualified teachers and tutors to provide 1:1 SEN tuition across Croydon and surrounding areas. You will tailor sessions to individual needs, build strong relationships with learners and adapt your teaching to make education engaging and accessible.

Ideal candidates will have SEND experience, a UK teaching qualification (QTS/PGCE/DET) and a commitment to safeguarding. Various session timings are available to fit around your availability.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' teaching or tutoring experience in the UK.
• Experience working with children or young people with SEND, ideally including 1:1 tuition.
• Current knowledge of the UK National Curriculum at primary/secondary/post-16 level.
• UK-recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, PGCE, DET or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality 1:1 tuition and specialist interventions tailored to the learner's needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
• Assess learning needs and adapt teaching, resources and approach.
• Support learners to re-engage with education and develop confidence in their abilities.
• Deliver elements of the National Curriculum at various levels as needed.
• Support learners with SEND, SEMH and barriers to engagement.
• Set learning goals and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with parents/carers and other professionals.
• Create a calm, inclusive learning environment.
• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive outcomes.
