Job summary

Remedy Tutors in Croydon is seeking experienced teachers and tutors to provide high-quality 1:1 SEN tuition across Croydon and surrounding areas. You will tailor sessions to individual needs, build trusted relationships, and adapt resources to make learning engaging and accessible.

Roles involve supporting learners with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, dyslexia, and other needs, delivering curriculum elements, and coordinating with parents and professionals.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' teaching or tutoring experience in the UK.
• Current knowledge of the UK National Curriculum at primary, secondary and/or post-16 level.
• UK-recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, PGCE, DET or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Overseas-trained teachers should have the appropriate UK ENIC/NARIC assessment where applicable.
• Enhanced DBS is required; Remedy can support the application process.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.

• Support learners with SEND, SEMH and barriers to engagement or learning.
• Set learning goals and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with parents/carers and other professionals where appropriate.
• Create a calm, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive outcomes in all work.

Remedy Tutors are looking for experienced, qualified and passionate Teachers and Tutors to support children and young people with SEND across Croydon and the surrounding areas.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an education professional who enjoys working on a 1:1 basis, building positive relationships with learners and adapting their teaching to make education accessible, engaging and meaningful.

Our learners have a wide range of individual needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, behavioural needs, ODD, dyslexia and associated learning difficulties. Each placement is different, and you'll have the opportunity to use your teaching experience creatively to develop bespoke learning programmes that are right for the individual learner.

What you'll be doing

Our tuition placements can involve supporting learners with a range of needs, including:

• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
• ADHD
• SEMH
• ODD and behavioural needs
• Dyslexia and specific learning difficulties
• Anxiety and barriers to education
• Learners requiring specialist 1:1 intervention
• Children and young people who are unable to access mainstream education

You don't need to have experience of every area listed above. We're interested in your overall SEND experience, your ability to adapt and, most importantly, your commitment to helping learners progress.

We have a variety of tuition opportunities available across Croydon, with sessions taking place at different times throughout the day - from early mornings and daytime sessions through to late afternoons and evenings.

Essential requirements

At least 2 years' teaching or tutoring experience in the UK.

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND, ideally including 1:1 tuition.
• Current knowledge of the UK National Curriculum at primary, secondary and/or post-16 level.
• A UK-recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, PGCE, DET or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Overseas-trained teachers should have the appropriate UK ENIC/NARIC assessment where applicable.
• An Enhanced DBS is required. If you don't currently have one, Remedy can support you with the application process.
