Job summary

Sprint Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Telford, starting September 2026. The role offers full-time hours with a view to permanency for the right candidate.

You will provide one-to-one support, run small group interventions, and help pupils access the curriculum while supporting their academic, social and emotional development in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

  • A degree, or be in their final year of university, in any subject, or relevant experience working with children or young people.
  • Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs is beneficial but not essential.
  • A patient, calm, and empathetic approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support for pupils with Special Educational Needs throughout the school day.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Support pupils on a one to one basis and in small group activities.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, communication, and independence.
  • Adapt learning resources and classroom activities to meet individual needs.
  • Promote pupils' emotional wellbeing and personal development.
