Job summary

Long Term Futures is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with a range of additional needs at a welcoming SEN school in Telford. This full-time role offers long-term temp-to-perm progression and weekly pay via a digital system.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support, assist with EHCPs, and help pupils access learning through personalised interventions and differentiated activities. DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs is desirable.
  • Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language Needs, or Complex Needs.
  • Patient, caring and resilient, with a nurturing approach.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, including autism, ADHD, Speech & Language Needs, SEMH, and Complex Learning Needs.
  • Support pupils to access learning through personalised interventions and differentiated activities.
  • Assist with the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Encourage independence, communication, and social interaction throughout the school day.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation using positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure pupils receive the best possible support.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to teaching staff.

Telford £100-£115 per day Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-time, long-term temp-to-perm (Full Academic Year)

Long Term Futures is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming SEN school in Telford. This is an exciting opportunity to support children and young people with a range of additional needs, helping them to access education, develop confidence, and achieve their individual goals.

Working as part of a dedicated and experienced team, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and empowered to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

About the Role

Working closely with teachers, therapists, and the wider SEN support team, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs is desirable
