Job summary

Long Term Futures is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants for a welcoming primary school in Telford this September. You will support pupils with EHCPs in mainstream classrooms and the school's specialist provision, helping children with Autism, SLCN and SEMH to reach their full potential.

This full-time, term-time only role offers a daily rate of £110–£125 with start date 01/09/2026. You’ll work 1:1 and in small groups, coordinating with teachers and SEND staff to tailor activities and monitor

Qualifications

  • A Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
  • Understanding of ASD, SLCN and SEMH needs.
  • Patient, nurturing and proactive approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Teaching Assistant (SEND) Location: Telford TF1 Daily Rate: £110 - 125 Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only) Start Date: 01/09/2026 Contract: Long-Term temporary, Temp to Perm

We are recruiting multiple SEN Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming primary school in Telford this September.

You'll support pupils with EHCPs both within mainstream classrooms and in the school's specialist provision.

This rewarding role involves working with children with Autism, Speech, Language and Communication Needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to achieve their full potential.

In this role, you will:
  • Support pupils with EHCPs on a 1:1 and small group basis.
  • Work across classroom and specialist provision settings.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, communication and independence.
  • Work closely with teachers, SEND staff and external professionals.
You'll need:
  • A Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent in a relevant subject.
  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
  • Understanding of ASD, SLCN and/or SEMH needs.
  • A patient, nurturing and proactive approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
