Aspire People are recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Solihull. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals, delivering tailored support to pupils with diverse needs, including autism, to help them engage with learning and develop essential life skills.

The role involves classroom and wider school activity support, promoting positive behaviour and independence, and building strong relationships with students and staff.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting students in SEN, SEND, autism or similar settings.
  • Ability to follow individual learning plans and guidance from teachers.
  • Strong communication with pupils, parents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with moderate learning difficulties and additional needs.
  • Assist with learning activities and curriculum support.
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.
  • Support classroom activities and learning programmes.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and independence.
  • Help develop communication, social and practical life skills.
  • Build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Support pupils during break times, transitions and wider activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents and professionals.
  • Follow individual plans and contribute to progress.
