Job summary

INDELSEC in Wandsworth is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with SEN in a mainstream secondary school. You will work with the SENCo and staff to adapt learning activities, provide one-to-one support for behavioural, emotional and social needs, and record progress for teachers and parents.

You will help prepare and maintain classroom resources. Requirements include a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent, experience with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH),

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent experience working with students with SEN.
• Experience working with students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum and relevant policies and procedures for supporting students with SEN.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEN in the classroom with SENCo and teaching staff.
• Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs.
• Provide one-to-one support for behavioural, emotional, and social needs.
• Record and monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
• Assist with preparation and maintenance of classroom resources and equipment.
