Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time role in Hounslow. You will provide classroom and one-to-one support to students with a range of special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum and stay engaged in learning.

You will work closely with teachers to create an inclusive, calm learning environment, supporting students’ academic, social and emotional development and building confidence and independence.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• Experience supporting students with SEN is advantageous.
• A patient, caring and positive approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with students.
• Good understanding of supporting individual learning needs.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.
• Assist students with accessing lessons and completing activities.
• Support students' academic, social and emotional development.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
• Help students develop confidence and independence.
• Work closely with teachers and other support staff.
• Contribute to an inclusive and welcoming classroom environment.
