Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a SEND school in Southend-On-Sea. The role involves working with a small class supporting Social Emotional Mental Health students aged 4–16, with many non-verbal or limited communication abilities.

You will support several children across the school rather than one-to-one work. You should have experience supporting SEMH pupils and be prepared to start immediately, committing to full school hours, five days per week.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with Social Emotional Mental Health Needs.
• Able to support pupils aged 4-16 with varied SEN needs and communication levels.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple classes across the school and assist with SEMH learners.
• Help break down tasks into manageable steps and reinforce learning objectives.
• Encourage participation, peer learning and clear communication with pupils.
