Job summary

Balfor Recruitment Group is recruiting for an Experienced Teaching Assistant to support secondary pupils with learning barriers in a Southend-on-Sea school. The role focuses on 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils engage with learning and build confidence.

The ideal candidate will have UK school experience, DBS Update service, and a calm, patient approach. Opportunities for long-term, temporary or permanent placements are available, with safeguarding training provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience in a UK school or education setting.
• Experience with SEMH, challenging behaviour, Autism, and/or ADHD is desirable.
• DBS registered onto the Update service.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support and small group work for secondary pupils.
• Assist with delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities.
• Support pupil SOCIAL, emotional and behavioural development.
• Assist with behaviour management using positive strategies.
• Help create a positive and structured learning environment.
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children and young people.
