Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a SEN Provision Teaching Assistant to join our team in Smethwick. This 121 TA role focuses on providing tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs, helping them access learning and grow in confidence within the school environment.

You'll collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals, supporting behavioural management, social and emotional development, and delivery of engaging activities. Ongoing training is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, ideally in a school setting.
• Understanding of SEN or additional needs.
• Patience, empathy and excellent communication skills.
• Positive and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Desirable but not essential Level 2/3 TA qualification.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 121 Teaching Assistants to join our Aspire Team and work in one of our schools in Smethwick. This role involves providing tailored support to a pupil on a one-to-one basis, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and thrive within the school environment in their SEND Provision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs, both in and out of the classroom.
• Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities.
• Help to manage behaviour in a positive and consistent way.
• Support the pupil's social and emotional development.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children (ideally in a school setting).
• Understanding of supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) or additional needs.
• Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
• A positive and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential.
