Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a SEN Provision Teaching Assistant to work in a Smethwick school on a 1:1 basis, supporting a pupil with additional needs to access learning and participate in class activities.

You will provide targeted support, help manage behaviour positively, and collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals. Relevant Level 2/3 TA qualifications are desirable, and ongoing training is offered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children in a school setting.
• Understanding of supporting pupils with SEN or additional needs.
• Patience, empathy and excellent communication skills.
• A positive and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential.

SEN Provision Teaching Assistant - Smethwick

Are you passionate about making a difference in children's lives? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 121 Teaching Assistants to join our Aspire Team and work in one of our schools in Smethwick. This role involves providing tailored support to a pupil on a one-to-one basis, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and thrive within the school environment in their SEND Provision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs, both in and out of the classroom.
• Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities.
• Help to manage behaviour in a positive and consistent way.
• Support the pupil's social and emotional development.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children (ideally in a school setting).
• Understanding of supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) or additional needs.
• Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
• A positive and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential.
