Supply Desk is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a secondary setting in Basingstoke. Start ASAP. This full-time long-term opportunity offers 1:1 and small-group support, assisting teachers with engaging lessons and adapting activities to meet varied needs.

You will help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits, while contributing to a calm, inclusive classroom environment and tracking progress.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar support role is desirable.
• Understanding SEND and challenges some pupils may experience.
• Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confidence supporting pupils with different learning and behavioural needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with special educational needs.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons across a range of subjects.
• Adapt learning activities and resources to suit individual needs.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits.
• Support positive behaviour and help maintain a calm, inclusive classroom.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils and promote their emotional wellbeing.
• Monitor progress and share observations with teaching staff.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other support professionals.
• Help pupils participate in classroom activities and achieve their learning goals.
