Job summary

Aspire People are currently recruiting for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream secondary school in Salford, starting as soon as possible. The role will initially run until Christmas, with potential to extend to end of the academic year.

The ideal candidate will have SEN experience, a UK degree, DBS Update Service, and strong behaviour-management and communication skills to support students with a range of needs in lessons and pastoral activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • Experience supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.
  • Strong communication and behaviour-management skills.
  • Availability to work 5 days per week.
  • The ability to start ASAP.
  • A DBS on the Update Service.
  • References covering the last 2 years.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with SEN across a mainstream secondary school.
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required.
  • Helping pupils access the curriculum and engage positively in lessons.
  • Supporting students with their social, emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Working closely with teaching staff and the school's SEN team.
  • Full-time, Monday-Friday.
  • Initially until Christmas, with the potential to continue until the end of the academic year.
