Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream secondary school in Salford, starting ASAP. The role is initially until Christmas with potential extension to the end of the academic year.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to help pupils access the curriculum and engage in lessons. The ideal candidate will have SEN experience, a UK degree (Psychology or related), strong behaviour-management skills, and an active DBS Update Service.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • UK degree in Psychology, Educational Psychology or related field.
  • DBS on Update Service and references from last 2 years.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEN across a mainstream secondary school.
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support as required.
  • Help pupils access curriculum and engage in lessons.
  • Support students with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and the SEN team.

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in a secondary school?

Aspire People are currently recruiting for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream secondary school in Salford, starting as soon as possible. The role will initially run until Christmas, with a strong possibility of being extended through to the end of the academic year.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and can confidently provide both academic and pastoral support within the classroom and wider school environment.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
  • Experience supporting pupils with a range of additional needs
  • A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning
  • A UK degree, ideally in Psychology, Educational Psychology or a related subject
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Strong communication and behaviour-management skills
  • Availability to work 5 days per week
  • The ability to start ASAP
  • A DBS on the Update Service
  • References covering the last 2 years
The role:
  • Supporting pupils with SEN across a mainstream secondary school
