Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream secondary school in Salford, starting ASAP. The role initially runs until Christmas with potential extension to end of the academic year.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN, help them access the curriculum and engage in lessons, and work closely with the school's SEN team. DBS Update Service and references are required.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • Experience supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.
  • A UK degree ideally in Psychology, Educational Psychology or related subject.
  • DBS on Update Service and references covering last 2 years.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required.
  • Helping pupils access the curriculum and engage positively in lessons.
  • Supporting students with their social, emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Working closely with teaching staff and the school's SEN team.
  • Full-time, Monday-Friday with initial run until Christmas.

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in a secondary school?

Aspire People are currently recruiting for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream secondary school in Salford, starting as soon as possible. The role will initially run until Christmas, with a strong possibility of being extended through to the end of the academic year.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and can confidently provide both academic and pastoral support within the classroom and wider school environment.

The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN

Experience supporting pupils with a range of additional needs

A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning

A UK degree, ideally in Psychology, Educational Psychology or a related subject

The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

Strong communication and behaviour-management skills

Availability to work 5 days per week

The ability to start ASAP

A DBS on the Update Service

References covering the last 2 years

The role:
