Job summary

Aspire People Limited is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Northampton. This full-time role supports children with SEMH and complex needs, helping them access learning and feel safe and valued in school.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, help develop social and communication skills, and work with teachers and the SEN team to promote inclusion and positive behaviour.

Qualifications

  • Patient, caring and empathetic approach.
  • Strong communicator and team player.
  • Experience with SEN/SEMH or complex needs is desirable.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
  • Support children with SEMH and complex needs to engage positively with learning.
  • Help develop social, emotional and communication skills.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and collaborate with teachers and SEN staff.
  • Promote pupils’ independence, confidence and self-esteem and support positive behaviour.
