Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant to work full time in a primary school in Milton Keynes. You will support pupils with SEMH and complex needs, helping them access learning in and out of the classroom with patience and care.

You will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to create a safe, inclusive environment, build confidence, and support social and communication development. Previous SEN experience is welcomed.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH and complex needs.
  • Patient, calm under challenging situations.
  • Strong communicator and team player.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
  • Support children with SEMH and complex needs to engage positively with learning.
  • Help pupils develop their social, emotional and communication skills.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Support positive behaviour and help children regulate their emotions.
  • Work closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals.
  • Adapt activities and provide encouragement to meet individual needs.
  • Promote pupils' independence, confidence and self-esteem.
