Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in primary environments in Monmouth. The role involves 1:1 and group support, ensuring pupil safety, and assisting the class teacher with lessons.

Forest school activities are possible and the position starts September 2025 with ongoing assignments. Desirable qualifications include Level 3 TA or equivalent; experience in primary settings and SEND awareness will help.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in Primary Schools.
• Experience of inclusive classroom practice.
• Understanding/awareness of supporting SEND requirements.
• Previous experience of supporting learning using a range of strategies, both with groups and on a 1:1 basis.

Responsibilities

• Carry out professional duties with group and 1:1 support.
• Ensure the safety and welfare of pupils.
• Lead small group work and reading activities.
• Support class teacher in delivering lessons.
• Forest school opportunities where applicable.
